3) Revisit the class as a whole and create a blog entry about what you have learned by taking a selfie (see below or syllabus). Include your own learning objectives in this assessment: describe how you managed to meet, change, or not meet these goals. Address what you see as the potential of using technology-infused materials for art making and classrooms. due: Dec 12, 10 AM.
Showed my Process:
In this semester, I have experimented with different types of software and machine that I had and had not studied before. The blog helped me document every process I have to go through. The class discussion enriched my knowledge of different education approach with the new media. The working process enables me to think whether this media can use within in specific group and how it should be introduced.
Explained my outcome:
I can see my growth and understanding of applying technology to education. I made my first 3D model, circulate, and laser cut in this class. I surprised that I can independently use a laser cutting machine. I learned that learning programme is not as hard as I have thought. Referring back to my learning object, I used to thought this is impossible, but I made it.1. Learn how to use new technology and develop in my artwork: I think carefully with the feature of every medium to create an artwork. With the new technology, such as scratch, I get myself familiar with the materials and then be creative.
2. Be experimental and be crazy: I did. In the scanography project, I use the found materials, the broken glass, dead flowers, used tissues, founded plastic bags and was crazy to do this project in the science library.
3. Learn to code: I could using the scratch to programme a game and video. I get to know some of the coding language and logic.
4. Exploring the possibility to use technology reach art: The introduction of those topics let me reconsidered that every software could be count as new technology and they can interpret in the art form. For example, I never think about a simple circuit project could turn into a lighting artwork. It reminds me that academic study and art study could be related. Those view as female or male-specific working could apply in both genders.
Linked to vocabulary:
I experimented and got to know lots of software and APP. Within those programs, such as in Micky Micky, I learned any conductor could create circuits, but I need a ground and earth to operate. In the laser cutting process, I learned laser cutting is not only about cutting object but also has the function of engraving. To do engraving, I have to set up the preference of raster. To do laser cutting, I have to have an adobe illustrator file and must have a vector. To set up the printing, I also need to look up the speed, power, and Frequency. I learned Scratch and Thinkercad are easy and an entry-level to familiarize the programming and 3D modeling.
Found multiple possibilities:
While I was doing with the video editing project, I have trouble with downloading editing software. In the end, I overcome the problem by exploring the APP feature on my phone. This process let me know that doing video editing is not only limited to the computer software but it is possible to do it any other software and new technology. This project let me explore that the phone has the same function as the software does, and it is more accessible to manipulate.
I preserved through the work
During the whole class, I put most of the time on the art-making, and I preserve my role as an artist. Through focusing on the art-making process, it allows me to think in depth about how to simplify to complex knowledge into a fun, visible and accessible way. Other than that, all of the artwork are all related to my art practice which focuses on discussing the environmental issues. I appreciate the class offers me the opportunity to focus on my art practice and find my pathway. It provided me the chance to rethink what I can do with same concern but different approaches.
Eliminated Carelessness
Overall, I learned that I have to have a constructed thought before moving on to any of the projects. In the whole process, I get myself familiar with writing and reflect although it still has the flaw. By working with laser cutting project, I learned that I have to think carefully about every detailed that being cut. I have to thought carefully about where this detail will remain on the shape or will get off. Furthermore, I have to consider carefully about the found materials use in the laser cutting machine. I have to consider the safety and the toxic that caseu by burning. Also, by making the Santa tree, I learned that I have to consider the depth of the materials to eliminate the extra working time to let sculpture stand.
