You started to create a 3D model through Tinkercad in class (theme of your model: a piece of jewelry, a trophy, an animal or creature that represents an aspect of you, or another form of your own choosing). Continue to play with it and post a screenshot of the outcome on your blog alogn with a short paragraph reflecting your experience. UNLESS YOU SIGNED UP FOR THREE CREDITS, THIS IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY: Output your model through Makerbot - with the help of the studio staff - and bring it to one of our next classes to share. Use either MMAS or the Thingspace for your print.
Reflection on the Thinkercad experience:
This is my second-time experiences 3D modeling software. Like the first time, I am not used to the perspective appears on the screen. It makes me feel dizzy like car sick. However, as I followed the instruction Richard gave in the class, this software became easy to manipulate, and I can start to create a visible shape. I would like to comment that Thinkercad is easy software to begin to explore the 3D modeling. It has the same function and shortcut as the other 3d modeling software. Thinkercad offers lots of characteristic shapes, like dinosaur and skull, it gives the participant a feasible way to build on to their own model.
Moreover, the design of this web let the audience feels like an easy game to play with, and it is acceptable for children. While I explore the features in Thinkercad, I thought all young student should have a chance or classes that introduce to the new technology. It is a handy tool for the student to construct and deconstruct any shape gemoetically. It helps students to learn a space in multi-perspective.
The most challenge I face to do this project is to print out the 3D model I build in the Thinkercad. The machine automatically will create a supporter for the model. I was exploring the other 3d print on google, but I did not find this problem in the others work. Understanding supporting is the next step I'm trying to learn. 3D printing is a challenge and fun, and I will keep explore and experience the 3D modeling in the future.
