Team up with a class mate and create a standalone structure from a 2D design process that includes at least one decorative = engraved element; output and assemble your design with the laser cutter. Document your process on your blog and bring the outcome to our next class.
Claudia and I are the group for the laser cutting. At the beginning, Claudia came up an idea to build a building. But I think we should doing something with those upcome holidays.
So we have the Christmas tree.
Claudia and I are the group for the laser cutting. At the beginning, Claudia came up an idea to build a building. But I think we should doing something with those upcome holidays.
So we have the Christmas tree.
Claudia has the first design on the tree, and I have an amended version.
Then we have an experiment on the first design of the Christmas tree. We were trying to measure the thickness of the wood.
I have found a few patterns could apply on the tree and do the engraving.
More ideas about the ornaments and the engravings.
We really want to make it better so we would like to take one more week to finalize our ideas.

Hi Quinta! The idea looks interesting and I can see that there's lots of potential in the direction you guys are going for. I like how you've experimented during the process and provided different options for engraving. I'm not sure you're going to apply some colors for the final but I think it could be fun if you do, since it's also a holiday theme. I'm looking forward to seeing the final! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Quinta! From what I can see, you guys have your project really well planned out. I just finished my laser cut assignment, just a piece of advice from a lot of failed attempts: double check everything! Double check the height of the laser, the focus of the laser, the job the laser is doing, and every piece of illustrated object on your AI file. I am really looking forward to seeing the final piece!
